Thursday, August 28, 2003 Hello Everyone, Well the time has finally arrived for us to make our return. Randy's back from his hiatus, where he joined SETI as a volunteer human antenna at the giant radar dish in Arecibo. Sure, the pay wasn't there, and he was struck by lightning 87 times, but it was the satisfaction of knowing that the 300 tetrillion channels of space static were ever the more clearer thanks to his presence. But now he's back and ready to rock, so I'm sure you'll all give him the reception he deserves. Now as for the minor name alteration -- Why, you may ask? Because the other 34 Effusions felt slighted. Actually, it was to avoid even slightest possibility of being sued by an outfit in California of the same name. So it's a legal thing. Anyway the "35" is more of an afterthought, like the 9,000 calories in the Big Mac you're eating, or Garfunkel.
